Road Rage

The streets are already dangerous enough with people not watchin where they are walking and people not knowing how to drive in a crowded area. We do not need someone getting hurt because of accidental things like pulling out in front of someone, IT Happens!!

What is your opinion?

K2 is a marijuana substitute, supposed to be an incent, that people smoke because it has the same numbing affects of some marijuana and it does not show up in drug tests. K2 is a very disputed thing, some think it is stupid to do, me being one that sampled it, I think K2 is stupid to smoke also. K2 is incense sprayed by a compound that has the same affects of THC ( the high effect of marijuana). I personally will not make a habit of smoking a chemical. Be smart with your health, dont try it. Check this news article out about the rising suspicion of K2 in states and how fast it is spreading.

Just Surfing the Recent News (check out the link)

Messing around with someone mentally or physically past just playing around is something is am strongly against. I hate when kids are bullyed and looked down on at schools, and it is everywhere these days. There are kids getting made fun of behind their backs because of the certain clothes that they wear, and people get looked down on for hangin out with a certain group. I think everyone should mingle with everyone and have an open mind. I was surfing the web and i caught a story on stl today about a young girl, around 16,  getting beaten and her pants getting ripped apart, and it was done by an older guy in her school. WHATS HAPPENING TO OUR WORLD! Everyone is gonna grow up timid!

WOW PEOPLE!!!!

When you get on your facebook and you never see your EXES PICTURES as soon as you get on, thank the photo editor of facebook, Sam Odio, and the people who decide to whine about their problems and ask the directors of facebook to put a setting on there to block you from seeing your EXES! Yes, it is a good thing to a certain point, but thats going too far when you have to rely on someone else to keep you from seeing your ex boyfriend or girlfriend. Check it out on CNN at http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/social.media/10/20/facebook.ex.photos.mashable/index.html?hpt=Sbin

PROJECT ADVICE PLEASE

My project is not coming along as fast as i thought it would. I am having trouble thinking of how to start the project. I am aiming mine more towards the counter culture of today. Basically the rebels of society but mostly directed toward "hippie" type people. If you read this and you think of any advice or topics to cover, feel free to give me some advice and input on a good starting point. Thank you!

"A Place to Hang Your Hat"

This essay hit me kind of hard because I have a soft side for the less priveliged people. There are some people who use those shelters because they are too lazy to live life and work, but then you got some people that are really in need of help and support and i feel that the author of this essay really hit that point to the max. This shelter which was called the " Ramsey House," was a subculture, it was like a little village of exact times that you had to be there for meals. It was almost like a job with deadlines if you think about it. The character that really brought my attention to the essay was "Hope." She had a rough life growing up because when she was in school as a child she was not allowed to have black friends and she showed her mother that she was not going to listen. The poor girl's mom got a restraining order against her because she could not get over her predjudiced outrages. The essay read that she still respected her mother and they still talked but the restraining order had to be in effect for 3 years before she could see her ever again. In all, this essay showed us that there are people out there that really need help, and some people just don't want to live life by the rules. This essay kind of goes with what we have to do with our project as a whole because it contains the description of the subculture and it contains interviews and different encounters with people in the subculture. I think we can really use this as a guideline on how to do a descriptive essay on our project.

Modern Day "Hippies" ( My project title)

Classic rock has always been a huge part of my life. It puts me in some sort of a trance that I do not come out of for a long while, well as long as the music is going that is. I love everything about it, mostly the root meaning of some of the songs or the people it attracted and the time frame from which it came. In the late 60's there was a huge festival of a bunch of peaceful Americans. It is the most remembered concert/festival of past American music. That festival was called "Woodstock," and it attracted thousands of people from all over the U.S. The most popular and well known group that it attracted was the "Hippies." They were basically a subculture of rebels, and they were very strong willed about what they believed was right. The "Vietnam" war was one of the most violent battles that America has ever fought and it turned the U.S inside out. People were outraged and full of violence. These rebels were against the war though, and they believed that everyone should come together and live as one in the world that we all have to survive in and help each other. The "Hippies" really kept strong to their protest against violence. They stood together against authority, and never backed down. These individuals were people that the older generations despised at that time. In my project I will explain all the events of the past with the "Hippies," and compare them to modern day people similar to them. I will be doing live interviews on some people that are actually "hippies." One of them being my friend David Desroche. The interviews will be full of opinions and what they think about life in their terms. I will also be recording live footage of different parties that they are at and at festivals such as "Schwagstock." The footage may be offending at some points of the project because things can happen and people can say stuff that others strongly disagree about. My project will also show what they do on their spare time when they are sitting around and their favorite foods or activities to do. There will be photos of the people I am interviewing and having in my videos. One of my friends will be showing us how to do cool designs on ty-dye shirts and just some of the things that they make. I will be going into the essay explaining the past and working my way up through the events of the past and eventually getting to the present, which will contain the interviews and photo and video footage.

Ordinary Me

There is not too much to say about me except that I am just like every other mid college kid. I want to party and I want to succeed at the same time. I get overloaded and I go into a deep depression stage because I did too much for my brain to keep up with. I have a full time job and I go to college. To ease my mind of the hard semesters that i have overcome so far, I listen to music. Not just any garbage that all these artists put out recently but the good tunes from all the talented musicians such as "Kurt Kobain" in "Nirvana." When I am happy and ready to party, I listen to metal. Some metal bands are "Lamb of God", "Mudvayne", and many more. I have a sister that is 14 years old. She has become the same way i was when i was her age. The only difference between my sister and I is that she is a feisty fireball that loves to fight and I am the calm and collective one. The most important thing about me is that i accept anyone. Everyone has a chance to prove that they are a decent person. I have always been friendly to most people. Overall i am just a laid back individual who takes life for what is thrown at me.

Ordinary Me

There is not much to say about me. I am an ordinary college kid trying to get through just like everyone else. I try to keep myself busy at all times because i get really depressed when i have nothing to do. Music is the main fix to my depression. Music is a get away from reality because you can escape in the midst of all the sounds. I like music with alot of skill
